How Can severe Muscle Fatigue Along With Strep Throat Be Treated?

Hi. About two weeks ago, my doctor said I had what looked like strep throat. She prescribed some antibiotics and I was on my way. However, leading up to then and since then, I have had a persistent case of muscle fatigue. This week, it was accompanied by a severe cough, sore throat, headache, a minor stomach ache, and the general sick feeling. What do I (most likely) have and what is the best way to treat it?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms are all part of bacterial infection associated with strep throat.

Consult a general practitioner and start on a short course of antibiotics preferably amoxclav.

Do warm saline gargles for symptomatic relief.

Nothing much to worry and the symptoms will settle in a couple of days.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
